• Muriel Dischel, President, New York City Chapter (NYCC), was appointed Chair, AALNC Membership Committee 2009 by National AALNC president Suzanne Langroth. Muriel has been an active volunteer on the Membership Committee & Virtual Reality Subcommittee for two years.
   

• NYCC Members Laura Nissim and Pilar Baker attended AALNC’s 20th Annual Educational Conference in Phoenix, Arizona that was held April 22-25, 2009. Laura co-presented, “Triaging Trials: The Role of the In-House LNC for the Defense” with Suzanne Smithwick, RN, LNCC. Laura also represented the NYCC at the Chapter Leaders Forum. Pilar “left the conference feeling confident, empowered, and with new goals”.
   

• The entire membership of the New York City Chapter, AALNC would like to acknowledge and express their sincere appreciation to Veronica Castellana, RN, ALNC, CLNI, CPSS, president and founder of RN Market and LNC Firm, for her contributions to the chapter. She was hugely instrumental in the design and development of the chapter’s website, which has been a consistent conduit for the growth of the NYCC’s membership. Veronica is also an author, freelance writer, and a Diabetes Nurse Expert and Educator.
